Our Services

Understand

  • We help clients pinpoint exactly which actions drive results and by how much. Using advanced analytics - like econometrics, machine learning, and remote sensing - we clarify what works, enabling clients to optimise resources, enhance impact, and plan confidently.

  • We uncover what truly drives people’s choices. Using ethnography, segmentation, and innovative data sources, we give clients a clear picture of the beliefs, identities, and contexts shaping behaviour.

  • We help our clients to shape choices at scale - cost-effectively, and in complex real-world settings. Our interventions are grounded in evidence, tested in context, and shaped by decades of experience.

  • We diagnose the values, norms, and informal influences that shape how organisations really work. Using values-led diagnostics, influence mapping, and behavioural insight, we help leadership teams define the right direction, realign priorities, and build cultures that boost trust, collaboration, and performance.

  • We design and test narratives that change minds and move people. Using audience insight, Theory of Change, and controlled trials, we create communications that cut through and deliver measurable impact.

Change

  • We help organisations embed behavioural science for the long term: building the systems, tools and capability to sustain impact long after we’ve gone.

  • We offer bespoke training packages in behavioural science and many related domains, from foundational to advanced.

Case Studies

Behavioural Messaging in a Complex Environment

A client operating in a difficult and high-stakes context needed to engage a resistant and hard-to-reach audience. We conducted mixed-methods research, including a large-scale survey and proprietary behavioural and values-based segmentation, to identify underlying motivations and identity factors. Based on this, we developed and refined narrative concepts, which were then tested in a multi-arm controlled trial. The most effective narratives led to measurable and sustained improvements in real-world behavioural outcomes.

Building behaivoural science infrastructure from scratch

A client sought to establish a behavioural science unit within a politically sensitive and high-pressure part of government. The environment was sceptical of experimentation and unfamiliar with sharing data—requiring us to move fast, manage risk, and build trust.

Working under close scrutiny, we defined the unit’s vision, operating model, and methods, engaging regularly with senior stakeholders to secure buy-in at every stage. In parallel, we delivered early projects to demonstrate tangible value and momentum. We also led the identification, hiring, and training of internal talent to build long-term capability.

The unit is now fully independent, producing high-quality work, and expanding its reach across government.

Embedding Cultural Change Through Targeted Engagement

A critical public service sought to shift culture across a workforce. We used network analysis to identify key influencers, allowing for focused engagement with a small group who were well-positioned to shape behaviours and norms.

Through a structured series of workshops, we introduced behavioural insights and created space for peer-led reflection and challenge. This targeted approach enabled deeper engagement and early signs of cultural shift, while laying foundations for wider change.

Our Approach

We are relentless empiricists. Asking people what they do, and why, rarely reveals the full story. Instead, we test hypotheses, measure outcomes, and refine what works.

We trust data, not hunches. But we also know that even the best data may not tell the whole story. We’re evidence-led, but unapologetically practical.

We’ve had plenty of success with non-conscious nudges, they’re often highly effective. But we’ve also seen that durable change can come from something deeper: moments when people pause, reflect, and recalibrate.

Whether we’re mapping how ideas spread or reshaping the context in which decisions are made, the key lies in combining scientific rigour with pragmatic delivery, and creative spark with experienced judgment. We design interventions to work not just on paper, but in the complexity of real organisations and real lives.

Our standard approach to change projects:

Define

We help you understand your objective – how to measure it; track success and build a theory of change to align your efforts towards achieving it.

Diagnose

We use surveys, social network analysis, and ethnographic field work to unpick how and why people act as they do. We will help you identify channels, touch points and levers of influence.

Design

We read and interpret the scientific research; design interventions with a multidisciplinary team of experts; conduct feasibility analysis; and test and refine our ideas.

Do

We use our experience delivering national change programmes to finalise recommendations; get you ready for scale; train and prepare your teams; and set up metrics for ongoing impact assessment.
